Can I ask for my call to be recorded?
A lot of call centers record calls for training and monitoring purposes and must legally let you know. If you want your call to be recorded so you can make sure your issue gets dealt with in the appropriate manner, you can ask. Normally a supervisor will take on the call and record it for you.
Should I ask for the name of the call agent?
In all good and courteous call centres, the call agents will offer their name at the beginning of the call. But if not, it’s good to ask so you can keep a record of who you’ve spoken to during the course of your query.
What are the opening times of contact centres?
This depends on the company. Generally, utility companies tend to be open during normal office hours, whereas larger corporate companies are open later into the evening, sometimes even 24hours. Contact Phone Number has details of call center opening times.
What should I do if my problem is not resolved on the call?
If you’re having difficulties resolving an issue over the phone, it is sometimes more effective to put your complaint or issue into writing or email . Some companies will insist on this in order to escalate your query.
What details will I need to give the call agent when I am connected?
If you have an account/reference/membership number, quote this early on in the call as this will allow the agent to bring your details up quickly. If not, details such as postcode, first line of address and full name should also allow them to bring up your details.
What is the best time to call Customer Services?
Many contact centres tend to be busy first thing in the morning and towards the end of the working day. To avoid queues, try to call outside of these times.
